CuBins Rental Terms & Damage Waiver
Version 2026-07-25
1. Placement, access and site conditions
You choose where the bin is placed and confirm the delivery truck can reach it safely. Before delivery, please make sure the route and drop spot are clear of vehicles, low branches, hydro and cable lines, and any other obstruction. If our driver cannot place the bin safely on arrival, or the spot is blocked, a return trip may be charged at the rate quoted at the time.
You are responsible for telling us about anything under the placement area that could be damaged, including septic beds and tanks, cisterns, wells, sprinkler and irrigation systems, drainage tile, buried utilities, gas lines, and heated or in-floor systems. We rely on the information you give us.
2. Driveway and ground surface damage
A loaded bin is extremely heavy, and roll-off delivery puts concentrated weight on a small area. Asphalt softens considerably in warm weather, and a bin placed on soft asphalt can leave depressions, scuffs, gouges or cracking. Concrete, interlock, pavers, curbs, grass and gravel can also be marked, cracked, rutted or stained.
By accepting these terms you acknowledge that you have chosen the placement location, that you understand this risk, and that you accept it. CuBins Bin Rentals Inc. is not responsible for damage to driveways, walkways, curbs, aprons, lawns, landscaping, pavers, or any other surface arising from the normal delivery, placement, presence or removal of the bin at the location you selected.
Ways to reduce the risk: ask us to place plywood or boards under the rails and wheels (free — just request it when you book), choose a shaded spot or an early-morning delivery in hot weather, keep the rental short, and avoid overloading. If you would rather not risk your driveway at all, tell us and we will look at placing the bin on the street or another surface where permitted.
This section does not limit our responsibility for damage caused by our own negligence or willful misconduct, and nothing in these terms removes any rights you have that cannot be waived under Ontario law.
3. Street and municipal placement
If the bin is to sit on a road, boulevard, sidewalk or any municipal property, you are responsible for obtaining any permit your municipality requires, and for any fines or removal costs if a permit is not in place.
4. What can go in the bin
Standard bins are for household garbage, renovation debris, furniture, and general non-hazardous waste. Concrete, asphalt, brick and dirt must be booked as a dedicated flat-rate bin and must not be mixed into a general waste bin.
The following must never be placed in a bin: paint, solvents, oils, fuels and other liquids; propane tanks and pressurized cylinders; batteries; tires; asbestos or suspected asbestos material; contaminated soil; medical or biohazardous waste; appliances containing refrigerant; and anything else classified as hazardous waste.
You remain responsible for the contents of the bin while it is at your location, including material added by other people. If prohibited material is found, you are responsible for the cost of sorting, special handling, fines, or disposal, and we may refuse to remove the bin until it is dealt with.
5. Loading
Loads must be level with the top rail of the bin. We cannot legally transport a bin loaded above the rim, and an overfilled bin will need to be brought down to a level load before pickup, which may mean a return trip charge. Please distribute weight evenly and do not load material that will shift dangerously in transit.
6. Rental period, weight and charges
The advertised price includes delivery, pickup, a rental period of up to 7 days, and the disposal weight allowance stated for your bin size.
- Overweight: $135.00 per tonne, plus HST, on any weight above the allowance included with your bin.
- Extra time: $15.00 per day, or $90.00 per week, plus HST, after the first 7 days.
- Flat-rate bins (concrete, asphalt, dirt) are priced as a flat rate and must contain only that material.
- HST applies to all charges.
After pickup, the bin is taken to the Region of Waterloo Waste Management facility, where it is weighed and the contents are disposed of. If the weight exceeds the allowance included with your rental, you will receive a copy of the official weight ticket together with the additional charge. If the load is within the allowance, no additional weight charge applies.
7. Payment
Payment is due by e-transfer once the bin has been delivered and placed. We also accept cash and credit cards; a surcharge applies to credit card payments and will be disclosed before you pay. Any overweight or extra-time charges are invoiced after the bin has been weighed.
8. Cancellation and changes
Please give us as much notice as you can. There is no charge to cancel or reschedule before the bin leaves our yard. If the truck has already been dispatched, a trip charge may apply.
9. Care of the bin
Please do not move, modify, paint or mark the bin, and do not light fires in it. You are responsible for loss of or damage to the bin while it is at your location, beyond normal wear from ordinary use.
10. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Questions about anything here? Call or text us at 226-748-3580 before you book — we would much rather explain it up front.
